Your local Farmshop
Welcome to Mainsgill, we are a family run farmshop, tearoom, foodhall and gift hall based in North Yorkshire on the A66. Moving to the farm in 1995 the family started selling their own home-reared produce to locals in 1997.
Maintaining our vision of over 20 years ago, we traditionally rear our beef, lamb and pork as we did when Mainsgill first begun. Our cattle and lambs graze on the lush pastures of the Holmedale Valley here at Mainsgill, while our pigs are fed on a unique cereal diet. We now grow all our own crops, allowing us to become more sustainable. Our straw is used to bed our turkeys and cattle in the winter months.
One of the great aims today is to showcase British agriculture to our community whilst also getting people engaged with the countryside and helping people learn where their food comes from and how it is produced.
Jack now has his own Youtube channel ‘Jack at Mainsgill’ where everyone can follow the farm all year round. We are ‘real’ farmshop offering a shop floor to our livestock farm, with no food miles. Our passion and drive is to provide the highest quality home reared produce, keeping alive the farming culture of yesteryear for our future generations.
